Japans Stimme gefragt aufgrund der atomaren Erfahrungen

"Japan Must Stand Up for Peace and Nuclear Disarmament. At a time of growing global disorder, responsible and diplomatic behavior is in alarmingly short supply".

"The people of the world are holding their breath for signs of responsible and diplomatic behavior on the part of elected officials, at a time when courage and integrity are in short supply. Recognizing the risks from a dysfunctional world order in the nuclear age, many have looked to Japan to provide diplomatic leadership given its unique history and pacifist constitution. This is despite the fact that the exemplary and much-neededArticle 9 is clearly on life-support and has been for more than a decade.

No one understands better than the Japanese people what is ultimately at stake on a planet awash with thousands of nuclear weapons, and a U.S. president with delusions of grandeur and unfettered access to the nuclear codes. Having experienced the worst nuclear crimes – the U.S. attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki – and also the tragedy of Fukushima, Japan can claim neither ignorance about how badly things could go nor the certainty that nuclear war will be avoided."  (THEDIPLOMAT, Ivana Nikolić Hughes and Peter Kuznick, 6. April 2026)

Mütterliche Ängste im Post-Fukushima-Kontext

"Fukushima Radiation Fears Show Lasting Effects on Fetal Development"

"What motivated Fu to conduct this study? She explains, “Living and working in Japan, I witnessed firsthand how profoundly the Fukushima accident shook the public, particularly pregnant women and young mothers, even in regions far from any physical danger. Fukushima's unique geography created a rare scientific opportunity to answer whether fear alone could harm a developing fetus.”" (Waseda University, 8. April 2026)

Kaiserfamilie besucht Fukushima

"Imperial family visits Fukushima to inspect reconstruction efforts

Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako and their daughter, Princess Aiko, visited Fukushima Prefecture on Monday to inspect the reconstruction efforts following the March 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident.

This is the first time since the disaster that members of the imperial family have visited the municipalities hosting Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings' Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, the site of the nuclear accident."

15 Jahre nach FUKUSHIMA | "Disaster condolence money": Entschädigungsfähige Anerkennung von Todesfällen im Zusammenhang mit 3.11

Artikel: "Japan still struggles with disaster-related deaths 15 years later"

"The disaster, which devastated wide areas of the Tohoku region, and the subsequent nuclear meltdown at Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings' Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, forced many residents into long-term evacuation, subjecting them to severe psychological and physical strain.

Bureaucratic issues, including how disaster-related deaths are officially certified, have also come to light. Fifteen years have passed since the disaster, but the Japanese government's declared goal of reducing indirect deaths to zero still appears far from being achieved."
